About CUALA
CUALA is one of the top ten societies in Cambridge University, attracting many students from international backgrounds who are interested in business and law in the Asian context. With more than 700 members and associates, we are one of the most rapidly growing and active societies in Cambridge. Our members are primarily undergraduates in either law or economics but we have smaller numbers of members reading subjects as diverse as natural science and English. We are committed to giving our members the experience and training they need to develop into future leaders in their respective fields, and our Annual Conference is one of our major highlights of the year. It is designed to enhance our members' understanding of the central business and legal issues and affairs in Asia.
Our 2008 conference is to be held in the Cripps Court Auditorium, Magdalene College, Cambridge, on Saturday, 1st March 2008 . Our formal theme is still under discussion but it will focus on the emergence of China and India. Many current Cambridge students are highly interested in understanding more about the opportunities and challenges present in these two Asian economic giants, and we believe that our conference topic will definitely provoke much stimulating discussion.
