Concept
The Wall Street Journal Europe Future Leadership Institute will organise the first Future Leadership Summit or BREE/SCHILDE SUMMIT to research and explore topics crucial to the leaders of tomorrow. Core of the Summit is a group of 50 elected student leaders coming from top business schools and universities across Europe.
How to Attend ?
If you are an elected student leader, leading a student body in the academic year 2010-2011, you could be selected to attend the Summit. Send us your cv and tell us why we should invite you using the below 'book now' button. For elected student leaders there is no cost involved to attend the Summit if you are coming from within Europe. If you are coming from outside Europe contact us to investigate different financial options that might help you attend the Summit.
If you are not an elected student leader, but would be interested in attending the Summit as a guest, please send us an email explaining why we should invite you. Attending the Summit will be complimentary, but by invitation only.
Program, Content and Research
Several of the topics chosen to be discussed are based on research conducted by Executive Learning Partnership (ELP), one of the prime partners of The Wall Street Journal Europe Future Leadership Institute. The detailed program will be published on this website after the 2010 holiday period.
Topics
All the sessions are structured to bring together captains of industry and student leaders in forums where they can exchange their views and concerns on local and global issues, and find solutions together.
Goal of the Summit
The goal of the Summit is to contribute in a tangible way to the development of skills in finance, economics and international business from a global perspective which will aid future leaders to succeed in their international careers.
About the International Student Senate
- To be able to bring student leaders together as a group we are creating a platform, The International Student Senate. The Senate is a tool to unite all student leaders under one umbrella. This will give us the opportunity to bring all content and results together in the format of a white book at the end of the Summit, representing the voice of student leaders in Europe.
- The BREE/SCHILDE SUMMIT is therefore built around the International Student Senate. Thought leaders, academics, CEO's, politicians will address the Senate.
- All student leaders attending the Summit will become members of the Senate. This happens automatically when they agree to attend the Summit.
- The Summit is not only a learning and networking opportunity for the student leaders, The Wall Street Journal Europe also expects to learn from the body of student leaders (the Senate) as to how our future world will look once in the hands of this group of future leaders.
Inquirere et Immutare
The moto of the WSJE International Student Senate is "Inquirere et Immutare" ("To Study and Reform").
Goal of the Senate
The goal of the International Student Senate is to identify and promote ways to stimulate and develop entrepreneurial spirit, creativity and innovation in our society leading to sustained economic growth and social protection.
Pairing System
The organizing committee aims to pair every student leader with a top executive from a multinational. The top executives are expected to act as coach or intellectual shadow to their student leader. We hope to grow the pairing system over the coming years in such a way that every student leader will be paired with one international top executive.
