SUPPORT: HELO PROJECT OFFERS FREE SUPPORT FOR SME'S IN LONDON

UCL's HELO project (Higher Education London Outreach) aims to support small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) registered in London to access the resources of two of the leading higher education institutions in the world: UCL and London Business School.
Many local businesses in London face difficulties in accessing the potentially powerful resources these institutions have to offer. HELO bridges the gap between them and SMEs that could use their expertise to help solve their technical and business problems to transform their prospects for growth.

SUPPORT: UCL ADVANCES WORK EXPERIENCE PROGRAMME

Can your business offer graduates an opportunity to learn and gain experience in a positive work environment?
After co-ordinating 60 successful internships this summer, UCL Advances have received further funding for an additional work experience programme due to begin this March. The aim is to provide graduated UCL students with valuable work experience that enables them to develop transferable skills and better equip them for the challenging labour market they are heading into. The graduates will attend a three day boot camp, in which they will be taught fundamental business practise by lecturers from UCL and London Business School, before being placed on an eight week assignment at a firm complimenting their academic studies and aspirations.
We would like to hear from businesses who feel they can offer graduates an opportunity to learn and gain experience in a positive environment, and benefit from the expertise and energy of a UCL student.
Companies will NOT be expected to pay anyone they take on; students will be supported through a monthly stipend funded by HEFCE. There is, however, an associated administration cost of £250 for a business taking part in the programme.
