Saïd Business School Partners with Guanghua School of Management to Run Private Equity Program in China

Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford has joined with Guanghua School of Management to offer The Private Equity Programme in China. Developed from Saïd Business School's successful private equity programme, the new course offers an opportunity to examine the changes brought about by the financing and governance models employed by private equity firms in Asia and around the world.
Private equity funds have been re-shaping the corporate landscape over the last decade, raising over two trillion dollars globally and investing in companies in all sectors of the economy. Although, to date, most of the impact of private equity has been seen in the U.S. and European markets, many private equity firms are now seeking new opportunities in emerging markets, in particular in Asia.
Professor Tim Jenkinson, Academic Director of the Programme, said: ‘China will be a major target for private equity funds in the coming years. There is considerable interest in private equity already in China both as an important asset class for investors and a key source of finance for companies of all sizes. It has been difficult for some to obtain information and understanding about how private equity funds operate, the potential returns and risks, and the sources of value creation so we are taking our well established Private Equity programme to China in partnership with Guanghua School of Management.
We will combine academic rigour with insight from experienced investors from Guanghua's extensive practitioner network within the Asian private equity industry. It will help participants gain a deeper understanding of private equity's role in the global corporate and financial landscape.'
